Privacy Policy
SliceLapse has no account and no server. The app talks to your printer over your own network and to nothing else. Photographs of your print, the finished film, and your printer's address, serial number and access code all stay in the app's storage on your phone.
Orana Solutions never receives them. Neither does Bambu Lab, and neither does anyone else. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting in the app.
The one place we do hold an email address is the beta list on this website, and only because you typed it in.
This policy covers the SliceLapse mobile app for Android and iPhone, and the slicelapse.app website. The data controller is Orana Solutions, reachable at [email protected].
The app collects nothing
There is no mechanism in the app for sending your data anywhere. It has no account system, makes no call to any server operated by us, and includes no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting library. This is a structural property of how the app is built, not a policy we have chosen to follow.
The app does create and hold data on your device:

Permissions, and what each one is actually for
- Camera. To photograph your print at every layer change. On Android capture runs in a foreground service so it survives the screen going off during a long print, which is why you see a persistent notification while a session is running. The camera is used only while a capture session or the framing preview is active.
- Local network. To find your printer and to hold an encrypted MQTT connection to it. This traffic stays on your network. SliceLapse does not use Bambu Cloud, and your printer must be in LAN mode for the app to work at all.
- Photo library. Write access only, used when you save a finished film or export frames. The app never reads your existing photos and has no ability to.
- Notifications. To show capture progress and to alert you if capture fails. A capture failure also pauses the print, so that alert matters.
The website
The site loads no third-party scripts, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics. Fonts are served from this domain rather than fetched from a font provider, so viewing the page makes no request to anyone but us. Our web host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
The beta list
If you submit your email address to join the beta, that address is stored in HubSpot, which acts as our processor. We use it to send you an invitation and nothing else: no newsletter, no marketing, no sharing and no selling. On Android an address on that list is also what puts you on the Google Play tester list, so it is passed to Google Play for that purpose if you ask to be added.
Ask at [email protected] and we will delete your address from the list.
App stores
Google Play and, in future, the App Store collect their own data when you install or update an app, and they report aggregate statistics to us such as install counts and crash rates. That happens through the store, not through SliceLapse, and it is governed by Google's privacy policy and Apple's. We see aggregate numbers, never a way of identifying you.
Children
SliceLapse is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, so it holds no children's data. The beta list is intended for adults operating a 3D printer.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority.
In practice this is simple, because there is so little to exercise them against. Everything the app holds is on your own device: deleting a session removes its frames and film, and uninstalling the app removes everything, including your printer's access code. We cannot delete data we never receive, and we have no copy of it. The only record we hold is a beta-list email address, and one message to [email protected] removes it.
If this ever changes
A paid tier is drafted but ships in nothing today. If it is built, it will need accounts and purchases, which means a server holding an email address and a record of what you have bought. That boundary is already fixed in the app's own design documents and it is worth stating here:
No frame, no video and no printer credential ever reaches a server. The printer path stays LAN MQTT with no cloud. A paid tier would buy editing features, never the privacy of the thing being edited.
Should accounts ship, this policy will be updated before they do, not after.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of the page. A change that materially affects what happens to your data will be announced on this site, and by email to the beta list if you are on it.
